ABOUT US
Our Story
Moriah United Methodist Church is a warm and welcoming United Methodist Church in Southeast Greensboro. We have been connecting people to the transforming love of God on this corner since 1813 - read more of our history here.
Moriah is a Lighthouse Congregation, which is our affirmation that we stand committed to the vision of the future United Methodist Church ready to welcome, love, and nurture any person whose church has closed, disaffiliated, or become no longer their church home.

Our Connection
The United Methodist Church is a connectional denomination. We believe that the practice of faith is lived out in community, and that the impact of our faith is multiplied when we are in ministry together. Structurally, we are connected to other United Methodists around the globe as a congregation of individuals with diverse gifts, part of a "charge" (which is to say we share a pastor with) Julian UMC and the Southeast Guilford Emerging Community, within the Northern Piedmont District of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference, which sits in the Southeastern Jurisdiction [in the soon-to-be formed United States Regional Conference] of the worldwide United Methodist Church.
Our Beliefs
As United Methodists, we share the core tenets of our faith with Christians of many denominations across the globe, with particular Wesleyan emphases on grace and holiness lived out through connection. Explore more about what we believe here.
